Average Rating: Rating: - Not Surprising Now a Movie I read this book before I heard a movie was coming out. I am not surprised Hollywood embraced it - I am surprised it took so long (he author is no slouch at self-promotion). The book read like a bad movie in the sense that I had to constantly remind myself that it was non-fiction. The story is captivating. A nervy, overly mature teen fakes his way into Pan Am cockpits to get free rides and fake paychecks. He scams everyone from a French printer, to judges to patients and other doctors in a hospital. His exploits were amazing and humorous - hubris such as his has to be humorous. The story line (I'm not sure an autobiography can have such a thing, but this one seems to) is terrifically entertaining. The only thing that holds it back from a five star rating is the writing was merely adequate. I don't know how the movie will be, but I definitely enjoyed the book. Read it to be amazed. Rating: - Hilarious! I purchased "Catch Me If You Can" shortly before the movie was released because I wanted to read the book first. This book is hilarious in places and at times it was hard to believe the cons are actually for real and not fabricated. An entertaining, funny read, I think most will enjoy the book. Can't way to see the movie. Rating: - Highly Entertaining Highly entertaining and totally engrossing, "Catch Me If You Can" is the true to life tale of a con-man on the run. A master of disguise and impersonation, Frank Abagnale cashed almost three million dollars in fradulent checks while traversing the globe in a five-year crime spree. Along the way, he aludes the authorities with countless imaginative ploys, most of them daring and so outwardly insane, they are brilliant in their ability to fly him under the radar of the law enforcement officials who have him just within their grasp. The story of a personality so unique and bold that you will be captured instantly. Can't wait to see the movie.
