Average Rating: Rating: - Perfect for a Fanfic writer As a fanfiction writer for the world of Harry Potter, I'm in consant need of more and more information about the wizarding world. No book has given me as much information as this fabulous book. Pictures, descriptions, examples from book...everything to help you better understand creatures, studies, and magical items from books 1-4. That's what so great: THIS BOOK COVERS ALL FOUR BOOKS! The writer is gifted, and obviously knows what he's talking about. This book is difficult, though. It's not for younger children! If your thirteen and up (or have excellent reading skills) this is the perfect book about Harry Potter's magical world. I highly recommend it for someone who needs the information, or just wants it for fun. Rating: - A MUST for the devoted HP fan! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and was a little wary of buy a companion book. But this is an absolutely fabulous book. It tells about almost every mythical being/activity mentioned in the HP series. The book goes into the detailed history of each subject. You can even learn how to read tea leaves, read palms, & analyze a name through Arithmancy. The pictures are great and the information even better. No wizard or muggle should be without this book! Rating: - A Must for Harry Potter Fans From how to safely harvest mandrake root, to why owls were feared in the ancient world, this book has it all. With descriptions, info, and black and white pictures of everything magical. You'll learn that Nicholas Flammel was a REAL person, how to perform Arithmancy (one of Hermione Granger's favorite subjects), and how to read tea leaves. This is a marvelous book that all fans of Harry Potter must own. My favorite parts were the Arithmancy and Tea Leaves chapters. I have actually performed Arithmancy on many people that I know, and celebrities, and find it very fun. The charts and info are incredible. You won't be disappointed.
